My oldest child has better linguistic boundaries than the corporate drones sending me calendar invites. When did "invitation" become too many syllables for people to manage. I received an email today asking for my "input on the invite" and I nearly threw my laptop into the recycling bin. We have perfectly functional, seperate nouns, yet we insist on nominalizing verbs because we are apparently too exhausted to finish pronouncing a proper word. Or maybe we are just lazy. My kids do this too, but at least they have the excuse of underdevelopped frontal lobes. What is your excuse, middle management? It makes me want to scream into a pillow.
