People are using 'whenever' for single, specific past events now. Heard someone say 'whenever I got married' yestarday. They only got married once. It makes my head hurt. Still, I guess it means our language is getting more chaotic and exciting. We might end up with a totally new tense system soon. Can't wait to see how we mess up the future perfect next.
