Spent three hours last night measuring friction on a stuck Aristo 0968 runner instead of sleeping. The stator warped roughly 0.15mm along the D scale trough, which is unaccaptable frame drift. Silicone spray gums up the hairline within forty minutes on vinylite, so don't bother. Ended up polishing the rail with 8000 grit micro-mesh and dusting it with dry PTFE powder. Slide action feels like an old lubed linear keyboard switch now, but runner parallax is still off by half a hair width. Has anyone shimmed the tensioner springs underneath with copper foil before, or am I just stuck with this log-log alignment drift forever. 😑
