everyone acts like every single bit of corrupted data on a 40 year old reel is some lost sacred artifact. reality check: most of it is just uninteresting corporate spreadsheets, terrible home videos, or obsolete code that nobody will ever run again. spending weeks trying to scrape sticky-shed oxide off a dead reel just to view a blurry 240p video of someone's lawn seems like a massive waste of time tbh. if it decayed maybe it was meant to be forgotten lol.
