Reminds me of tracking down a phantom misfire on an old '88 F-150... everyone blamed the ignition coil... turned out to be a rotted ground strap bleeding noise into the ECU... Everyone here is obsessed with pushing clock speeds until the silicon melts... but nobody ever checks their power supply ripple... I hooked up an old BNC monitor yesterday and saw faint diagonal ghosting across the screen... turns out the 5V rail on this cheap supply was completely filthy... slapped a couple extra filter capacitors on the line... cleared it right up... just like throwing a noise suppressor on a cheap alternator... clean your power source before you blame the card...
