everyone acts like throwing an old Ampex reel into a food dehydrator for six hours is the holy grail of tape recovery... but honestly half the time people just end up cooking the binder beyond repair... maybe some degraded tapes are just meant to stay dead... or at least maybe sticky shed syndrome isn't always to blame for your cheap eBay deck eating the ribbon... just saying...
