I keep seeing people claiming that you need a specialized ring light or some absurdly expensive custom diffuser setup just to take decent macro shots of tiny caps. That is complete nonsense. A cut-up plastic milk jug or a cheap piece of packing foam fitted over a standard speedlight will give you softer light and better diffusion every single time. Stop overcomplicating basic lighting physics just to justify spending money on overpriced plastic gadgets.
