everyone keeps saying to just toss the movement in an ultrasonic tank with ammoniated cleaner. super great advice, except it stripped the original lacquer off the front plate completely. maybe specify temperature and dwell time next time instead of giving half baked tips. now i have to refinish the whole thing.
