Just scored a dusty 1880s mantel clock at the flea marquet for ten bucks. The mainspring is totally jammed but I am super bullish on this beauty. My grandson told me about some fancy oils but I think a healthy dose of WD40 will get these gears spinning like a top. We are holding this baby forever. Mechanical clocks are the original decentralized tech anyway. No electricity needed just pure power. Let me know if you got tips for cleaning the escapement wheel without taking the whole thing apart.
